Hunan Museum was awarded as "International Cultural Exchange Base for Overseas Chinese".

On January 29, Huang Fang, the secretary of the party group of Hunan Federation of Overseas Chinese, awarded the license "the international cultural exchange base of overseas Chinese" to Hunan Museum.In Hunan Museum, Duan Xiaoming, secretary of the Party Committee and curator of Hunan Museum, briefly introduced the development, planning and construction of the museum, as well as the characteristic exhibitions, and discussed the future development direction of the museum.Huang Fang thanked the Hunan Museum for its assistance in carrying out cultural exchanges with foreign countries in recent years, and congratulated the museum on its official listing.She said that the Hunan Museum, as one of Hunan's cultural cards, was an important window to promote cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries.It was hoped that the Museum will continue to give full play to its own advantages, let overseas Chinese return home to feel the development of the motherland, let overseas Chinese teenagers further feel and learn Hunan culture and Chinese culture, enhance their emotional identity and sense of belonging to their ancestral (home) country, and promote cultural exchanges at home and abroad.Hunan Museum is one of the first national first-class museums in China, one of the eight national key museums jointly built by the central government and local governments, and the largest comprehensive museum of history and art in Hunan Province.According to the official website of the museum in April 2020, Hunan Museum has an exhibition area of 27,000 square meters and a collection of more than 180,000 pieces of cultural relics, especially the unearthed relics from the Han Dynasty Tomb in Mawangdui, Shang and Zhou Dynasties, Chu cultural relics, ancient ceramics, paintings and paintings, and modern cultural relics.Hunan Provincial Museum has two basic exhibitions: the Han Tomb Exhibition at Mawangdui in Changsha and the History and Culture Exhibition of Hunan-Sanxiang. Special exhibitions and exchange exhibitions are held regularly.
