Taiping Street, an old street in first sight

The name of Taiping street is given at Qing Dynasty. Taiping metaphorically means prosperity and peace. Taiping Street remains the most original layout from the previous city planning and preserved itself most well. It is located in the middle part of Changsha.

This street began with Warring States Period. Even after two thousand years, it is always the center of Changsha. In 2006, Changsha government started the preservation project and initiated restorations of alleys in 2018 and 2019.

Now, not only Jia Yi's residence (Han dynasty), Changhuai Well (Han dynasty) and many other cultural heritages are well preserved, but also some famous rice shops, salt shops, and tea shops, which have many intangible culture heritages, have operated their businesses here. In an addition, Taiping cultural and creative community is another popular attraction.
