4th China Intl Import Expo sees $70.72b in tentative deals signed

The 4th China International Import Expo (CIIE) saw deals for intended one-year purchase of goods and services reach $70.72 billion, the event's organizers revealed in a press conference on Wednesday.

Despite the pandemic, the six-day expo in Shanghai, which concluded on Wednesday, attracted nearly 3,000 business exhibitors from 127 countries and regions, according to Sun Chenghai, deputy head of the CIIE bureau.

The total exhibition area of the 4th CIIE was 366,000 square meters, 6,000 square meters larger than that of last year, per the CIIE bureau.
