The
Research Center of Intelligent Equipment Industry, CCID Consulting
recently released “CCID Consulting’s Top 100 Advanced Manufacturing
Cities (2021)”. Seven cities in Hunan Province, including Changsha,
Zhuzhou, Changde, Yueyang, Hengyang, Chenzhou, and Xiangtan, made the
list, ranking 10th, 42nd, 71st, 84th, 88th, 93rd, and 97th on the list
respectively. The
list has conducted a systematic study and comprehensive evaluation of
the advanced manufacturing development in 293 prefecture-level cities
across China from 27 indicators in five dimensions: innovation
capability, integrated development, economic drive, brand quality, and
green centralization. Hunan’s seven listed cities showed their charm as
the main force in building Hunan into a manufacturing powerhouse. In
recent years, Hunan has vigorously implemented the Three Highlands and
Four New Missions Strategy, and has taken solid steps to build itself
into an important national advanced manufacturing highland. Between
January and October this year, the provincial equipment manufacturing
industry maintained rapid growth, with competitive industries such as
electronic machinery achieving double-digit growth. The provincial
large-scale industries increased by 8.7% year on year, and the two-year
average growth rate was 6.3%, ranking fifth among the top ten major
industrial provinces nationwide. Changsha
City, the capital of Hunan Province, has formed five
hundred-billion-yuan industrial structures of construction machinery,
new materials, electronic information, food and tobacco, and automobiles
and parts. It is now forging ahead to promote the construction
machinery among the world-class advanced manufacturing cluster. Zhuzhou
City is the only city in Hunan Province with the R&D investment
accounting for more than 3% of GDP. Its added value of high-tech
industries accounts for 28.1% of GDP. Changde
City has vigorously promoted industrial projects and strives to build
the entire industrial chain. In the first three quarters of this year,
there were 152, 85, and 77 newly-introduced, newly-started, and
newly-operated industrial projects, each with a total value of 100
million yuan. Yueyang
City has accelerated construction of seven hundred-billion-yuan
industries and the “12 plus 1” advantageous industrial chains. A number
of ten-billion-yuan flagship industrial projects, such as New Kinpo,
Huawei, and caprolactam, and a number of major energy projects have been
steadily advanced. The industrial momentum has continued to increase. A
batch of old industrial bases have been transformed and upgraded. There
are 1,295 industrial enterprises above designated size in Hengyang
City, and the power transmission and transformation equipment industry
is making every effort to be included into the national advanced
manufacturing industry cluster. Chenzhou
City has carried forward the construction of a demonstration zone for
the transformation and upgrading of resource-based industries. The
“depression of the mining capital” has emerged as an “industrial
highland”. Xiangtan
City has been changed from “simple manufacturing” to “intelligent
manufacturing”, and the industrial chains of new energy and automobile
manufacturing, electronic information and new generation information
technology, advanced electric drive and wind power equipment industry,
and high-quality steel and new materials are flourishing. Translator: Yu Jiangjiang
