A month-long event to promote employment and entrepreneurship of college graduates in 2022 was launched at the Yuelu Scientific and Innovation Platform on December 22, 2021. Hunan Vice Governor He Baoxiang attended the launching ceremony.

The event aims to fulfill the Three Highlands and Four New Missions Strategy orientations and tasks in an all-round way, achieve fuller employment and create better quality jobs for college students, and build Hunan into a hub with core competitiveness of talent attraction and sci-tech innovation.

Data shows that, 88.76% of the college students graduated in 2021 had been employed, self-employed, or went on further study, which is 9.54 percentage points higher than last year and also higher the national average. In 2022, the number of college graduates will exceed 480,000. In order to help the graduates secure jobs or start business, Hunan will further expand employment channels, retain talents based on the province’s needs, guide recruitment to meet local demands, and collaborate with other provinces to boost fuller employment. Hunan will give full play to the twin engines – popular entrepreneurship and innovation to arouse college students’ passion for innovation and entrepreneurship, and encourage business start-ups as a means to create more jobs. A new “internet + employment” pattern will be pushed to provide targeted assistance to the graduates with employment problems, and establish institutes for employment and entrepreneurship guidance. These efforts will help achieve fuller employment and create better quality jobs.

A forum themed “New Trends of 5G, New Opportunity of Entrepreneurship” and a job fair of the Yuelu Mountain National University Science and Technology Town were held on that day. Next, a series of regional and industrial job fairs for college students and employers, and the 2nd on-campus recruitment fair for Hunan and Guangdong enterprises will be organized.
