The Changsha Huanghua International Airport International Cargo Terminal 3 was put into service recently, after one year of construction. On the first day of operation, the cargo terminal handled 31,574 kilograms of imported aquatic animals such as lobsters and scallops.

The International Cargo Terminal 3 covers an area of over 40,000 square meters. There are three customs supervision and inspection sites for imported chilled aquatic products, imported edible aquatic animals and imported fruits, respectively. The terminal is an airport port with the strictest standards and highest specifications in the province. It helps make up for the Changsha airport’s weak links in air cargo facilities.

The inspection site for imported chilled aquatic products is equipped with dedicated independent comprehensive houses, and inspection platforms whose temperature can be controlled at 12 degrees Celsius. Specialized inspection platforms are also built according to the requirements of epidemic prevention and control. There are “top-level” or advanced facilities at inspection sites for imported aquatic animals and designated supervision sites for imported fruits.

Since the beginning of this year, Changsha Huanghua International Airport’s international cargo terminal has handled more than 100,000 pieces and 7,453 tons of imported chilled aquatic products, edible aquatic animals, and fruits in 1,382 declared orders, including lobsters, scallops, eel, cherries, plums, crabs and eels. These imported goods came from the United States, Canada, South Korea, and other countries and regions.
