2021 ASEAN-China Culture and Tourism Week

The 2021 ASEAN-China Culture and Tourism Week will be held in Changsha from December 26 to 31, according to a press conference held by the Changsha Municipal People’s Government on December 23.

The event is sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and undertaken by the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and the Changsha Municipal People’s Government. Themed "Jointly Build the ‘Belt and Road’ for Win-Win and Sustainable Development", it aims to further strengthen culture and tourism cooperation, exchanges, and mutual learning between China and ASEAN countries. It aims to help build Hunan into a strong cultural province and a strong tourism province, and develop Changsha into an international cultural creative center and an international tourist center city.

Eight theme activities will be launched, including:

-- Changsha Cultural Tourism Promotion Conference;

-- Night tour on the Xiangjiang River;

-- Opening Ceremony;

-- China-ASEAN Culture and Tourism Sustainable Development Dialogue;

-- 2021 China-ASEAN Music Industry Exchange;

-- Changsha nighttime economy survey;

-- Cultural tourism expedition tours; and,

-- Cultural tourism themed exhibitions.

The attendees will include leaders of relevant national ministries and commissions, representatives of the China-ASEAN Center, representatives of ASEAN countries’ diplomatic envoys to China and the culture and tourism authorities, representatives of the first batch of more than 20 member cities of the Lancang-Mekong Tourist Cities Cooperation Alliance, well-known experts and scholars at home and abroad, and representatives of well-known companies.

In recent years, Hunan has accelerated the pace of Huxiang culture going global and expanded opening up of the cultural tourism sector in "Belt and Road" countries. The province has focused on the building of a "4-hour international aviation economic circle" centered on Changsha, strengthened cooperation with Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and other ASEAN countries in visa and customs clearance facilitation. Hunan has continued to expand its international "circle of friends" through carrying out serial cultural exchanges activities and signature programs in ASEAN countries.

The event this year will further strengthen exchanges and cooperation between Hunan and ASEAN countries in the field of cultural tourism, and help build a world-class famous cultural tourism brand of "Splendid Xiaoxiang".
