Changsha County included in China’s Top 10 Counties for Social Governance

The Academy of Social Governance of Zhejiang University recently released a list of China’s top 100 counties, county-level cities and districts in terms of social governance for the year of 2021. Among the top 10, Guangdong, Zhejiang, and Jiangsu Provinces accounted for 4, 3, and 2, respectively. Changsha County was the only one on the top 10 list that is located neither in the Yangtze River Delta nor in the Pearl River Delta.

Taking 2,778 county-level governments of 27 provinces and autonomous regions as the evaluation objects, the research team selected the top 500 as the final sample for the evaluation, based on criteria such as GDP, population, education expenditure, social security and employment expenditure, and medical expenditure.
