Opening ceremony of China South National Digital Publishing Base Project Held

The groundbreaking ceremony of the China South National Digital Publishing Base Malanshan Industrial Park Project was held at the Malanshan Video Cultural and Creative Industrial Park on January 10. With a total investment of 2.449 billion yuan, the project is aimed at integrating new industries and new business forms including short video, integrated media, digital publishing, and digital education, in a bid to promote deep integration of Hunan’s publishing industry.

The project covers a construction area of about 293,000 square meters. It is planned to construct industrial office buildings, service-oriented apartments, multi-functional centers, digital culture and art centers, and studio centers. It is expected to be put into use in 2025. Following the concept of “uncut gemstone", the complex will be located high and low randomly. A new form of business will be created to integrate office spaces, creative centers, data centers, media art centers, business incubators, and publishing museums. The project will be developed into a “DreamWorks” in the publishing industry, and will be home to emerging industries such as short video, Internet education, and services for the generation born in the 1960s.

According to the 14th Five-year Plan, Hunan Province will further deep integration between traditional publishing and emerging publishing, and the province’s digital publishing revenue will have reached 20 billion yuan by 2025. Upon completion, the Malanshan Industrial Park will help optimize industrial layout of Hunan Publishing Group, create robust drivers for high-quality development of Hunan’s publishing industry, and make the sector play a leading role in the country.
