Changsha airport’s passenger throughput ranks first in central China in 2021

Hunan Province’s airports registered a passenger throughput of more than 25 million in 2021, a year-on-year increase of 6.2%, according to the Hunan Airport Corporation on January 11. Data showed that the number of takeoffs and landings that were handled in the airports increased 7.3% to 220,000, and the cargo and mail throughput increased 9.1% to 213,000 tonnes.

Changsha Airport handled nearly 20 million passenger trips, a year-on-year increase of 3.9%. It once again ranked first in central China after four years and ranked 12th in the county in this regard. It guaranteed 162,000 takeoffs and landings and handled a cargo and mail throughput of 209,000 tonnes, up 4.3% and 8.9% respectively. In 2021, Changsha Airport opened flights to twenty new destinations including Lhasa, Baotou, Kaili, Hetian, Zhoushan, and Luoyang. So far, it has offered service to 121 domestic destinations and 20 international destinations.
