First special train for migrant workers launched

A K6690 train started off from Lianyuan Railway Station towards Shenzhen West Station at 16:38 on February 8, 2022. It was Hunan's first special train for migrant workers after this Spring Festival. Nearly 1,000 Lianyuan workers took the train to return to their positions in Guangzhou, Dongguan, and Shenzhen.

In order to ensure the smooth operation of the special train, the China Railway Guangzhou Group has enhanced passenger coordination work based on learning about the passengers’ information in advance. Group passengers from one village were accommodated in one train carriage. Railway station and local government staff had delivered the group passenger certificates to each village.

Besides, Lianyuan Railway Station increased working staff at ticketing, check-in, waiting hall, and platforms, identified their working responsibilities, and organized CPC and Chinese Youth League (CYL) members and youth volunteers to provide necessary assistance.

The train was a sleeper one. The worker passengers could enjoy a comfortable sleep before they arrive at their destinations, and child passengers could be well taken care of.

The railway station collaborated with local medical staff to take temperatures and check the health codes of the passengers, and remind them to take protective measures such as wearing masks.

Since that day on, more special trains for migrant workers will be operated from Lianyuan, Xinhua, and Huaihua railway stations to Shenzhen West and Shanghai South stations.
