A cross-border e-commercial work conference of Hunan Province was held in Changsha on February 22, 2022. Hunan Vice Governor He Baoxiang attended and addressed the conference.

Vice Governor He stressed promoting high-quality development of cross-border e-commerce based on targeted orientation and strong guarantee. We should understand and boost cross-border e-commerce development, from the perspectives of thoroughly implementing President Xi Jinping’s speeches and instructions on Hunan during his inspection tour in the province, and fulfilling the direction and tasks of the “Three Hubs and Four New Missions” Strategy. Hunan authorities should recognize the development gap, and shoulder the responsibilities, to step up the development pace. Efforts should be concentrated in fostering a group of key enterprises, establishing a batch of key platforms, and priority should be put on major markets and key links, to make cross-border e-commerce a new driver for stabilizing foreign trade. Departments concerned at all levels should fulfill their responsibilities, accelerate institutional innovation, and enhance coordination, to jointly achieve prosperity of cross-border e-commerce.

Hunan has been constantly improving the quality and efficiency of cross-border e-commerce development in recent years. There are four national cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot zones, and six pilot cities for cross-border e-commercial retail imports. The number of the national-level cross-border e-commercial platforms around the province has taken the lead in central and western provinces in China. A number of leading enterprises in such fields have settled in Hunan. More than 6,000 Hunan-based sellers registered on the Amazon and the AliExpress. In 2021, Hunan’s cross-border e-commerce imports and exports increased by 89.7% year on year, which was 74.7 percentage points higher than the national average.
