year, Changsha plans to renovate 645 old residential areas and 240
dilapidated houses in urban areas, according to a work promotion meeting
held on February 23 and 24. The renovation work aims to improve urban
living environment and help residents have more sense of happiness. Houses
near the Second Xiangya Hospital of the Central South University have
taken on a new look after upgrading and renovation. A traffic

renovation of old urban residential areas and dilapidated houses is not
only related to the improvement of city image and quality, but also to
the vital interests of ordinary people. In 2021, Changsha implemented
the renovation of 374 old urban communities and started the renovation
of 630 urban dilapidated houses, benefiting more than 50,000 households.
The city has responded to policy requirements; strengthened work
measures; taken targeted measures; sped up efforts to shore up weak
links in urban development; and, improved urban connotations and
quality, in a bid to make residents live happier near their homes. In
2022, Changsha plans to renovate 645 old urban residential areas,
benefiting some 95,000 households. The renovation volume is the sum of
the past three years, ranking first in the province. The year of 2022 is
a crucial year for the renovation of urban dilapidated houses. The
