The Changsha event of the 2nd “Chinese Style” Sino-French Cultural Festival in Normandy, France opened in Changsha on March 5, 2022.

Chen Hui, president of the Changsha Returned Overseas Chinese Federation; Yue Feng, deputy director of the Changsha Municipal Bureau of Culture, Tourism, Radio and Television; Duan He’en, vice president of the Association for Sino-French Economic, Cultural and Educational Exchanges in France, attended the opening ceremony.

The event was co-sponsored by the Changsha Returned Overseas Chinese Federation, the Association for Sino-French Economic, Cultural and Educational Exchanges in France, and the Sino-French Friendship Association in Normandy, France. It aims to show the charm of Chinese culture; let more French people and Chinese in France know about China and Hunan; promote Hunan culture and products in France; and, spread Hunan culture and tell Hunan’s stories well through communication.

During the event, cultural and artistic works with Hunan characteristics were presented to the Chinese Embassy in France and the Museum of Coutances, France, including a Liling porcelain plate, a Hunan embroidery work featuring the scenic area of Orange Isle, a Yongzhou Nvshu (women’s script) work, a woodcarving work, and Liuyang Xiabu (grass cloth) cultural and creative products. These works will help French people better feel the unique charm of Hunan culture.

Four cultural artists were awarded the honorary certificates of Sino-French Cultural Image Ambassador.

The Association for Sino-French Economic, Cultural and Educational Exchanges in France signed a contract with the Hunan Malanshan Short Video Technology Co., Ltd. They will jointly establish a “Sino-French International Tiktok Operation Center”, and use Tiktok short videos to spread Hunan culture and promote Sino-French economic and trade cooperation.

The association also signed a contract with the Hunan Lulong Agricultural Science and Technology Co., Ltd. to build a “Sino-French Cultural Tourism Garden” to promote international cooperation in rural revitalization.

A Sino-French cultural exchange forum and a Hunan high-quality products promotion meeting were held after the opening ceremony.
