The Guangzhou Railway Group will adjust transport capacity and train operation to meet the travel needs of passengers during May Day holiday in the context of epidemic prevention and control. It was learned from the railway authorities on April 27.

It is planned to add 86 trains on average every day, including 54 bullet trains and 32 ordinary trains. The trains are mainly bounded for Guangdong and cities in Hunan Province that are popular among short-distance tourists.

More round-trip bullet trains from Changsha to Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Yueyang, Zhangjiajie, Huaihua, and Shaoyang will be put into service during the holiday, according to the Guangzhou Railway Group Passenger Transport Department. Extra round-trip ordinary trains from Changsha to Yueyang, Yongzhou, Changde, Shimen, Hengyang, and Chenzhou will be arranged.

To ensure the safety of passengers, all railway stations of Guangzhou Railway Group will tighten anti-epidemic measures through measuring body temperature; checking health QR code, digital travel record, and a valid proof of a negative COVID-19 nucleic acid test result; disinfection, and special waste disposal.

Passengers from Hunan Province are required to scan a venue QR code and present a green health QR code when undergoing check-in procedures.

Those traveling to Beijing must present the green-code status in the "Beijing Health Kit" and show the negative result of a nucleic acid test taken within 48 hours before departure.

Those travelling to Hunan Province from outside the province must provide a negative nucleic acid test result within 48 hours upon arrival and cooperate with local epidemic prevention and control measures.

Testing sites will be set up to provide free COVID testing for passengers at the exits of stations including the Changsha South Station, Changsha Railway Station, Hengyang Station, and Huaihua Station. The testing sites of the Changsha South Railway Station are located in the exit halls of the East and West Squares.

There are a few train tickets available from Changsha to Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Kunming, Nanchang, and Xiamen between April 28 and May 1.
