The Hunan Sub-council and the Guangxi Committee of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) jointly hosted a video meeting on promoting commerce, trade and logistics cooperation along the new western land-sea corridor on May 11. The meeting was held in Guangxi's Nanning, and Hunan's Changsha, Huaihua, and Yongzhou simultaneously.

Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Hunan Province have strong complementarity in promoting construction of the new western land-sea corridor and bright prospect of cooperation, said Wei Ran, chairperson of the CCPIT Guangxi Committee. The new corridor will help promote sea-rail combined transport service to integrate with international transport, strengthen logistics cooperation among Guangxi, Hunan and ASEAN countries, and facilitate Guangxi and Hunan enterprises to expand ASEAN market.

CCPIT Hunan Sub-council Vice Chairman Fu Danzhou said that the new western land-sea corridor provides an important opportunity for Hunan and Guangxi. Since the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) agreement entered into force, Hunan enterprises and ASEAN countries have benefited from the new western land-sea corridor in terms of reducing costs and enhancing efficiency. Cooperation between Hunan enterprises and ASEAN countries have been strengthened to form more convenient supply chains. Hunan has quickened its pace of integrating into the new corridor. Construction of Huaihua International Land Port and Yongzhou International Land Port is being pushed forward in a high-quality way. Strengthening Hunan-Guangxi cooperation in a comprehensive way helps increase the competitiveness and international influence of the new western land-sea corridor.

The Huaihua International Land Port Station of the Beibu Gulf Port was unveiled on that day, marking a solid step for Hunan and Guangxi to integrate into the new western land-sea corridor construction.

According to the new cooperation agreement signed by the CCPIT Hunan Sub-council and Guangxi Committee, Hunan and Guangxi will cooperate in building the new western land-sea corridor, promote the flow of logistics factors, expand logistics market, improve industrial chains, and achieve integrated development of ports and the hinterland. Efforts will be made to develop "Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan Metropolitan Area—Beibu Gulf Economic Zone—ASEAN" cross-border industrial and supply chains.
