24th CAST annual meeting concluded in Changsha

The 24th Annual Meeting of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) was concluded in Changsha on the afternoon of June 27, 2022. It was co-hosted by CAST and the People's Government of Hunan Province. Zhang Yuzhuo, vice president and chief executive secretary of the Secretariat of CAST, delivered a closing speech. Zhu Guoxian, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, attended.

Xu Yanhao, deputy secretary of the CPC Leadership Group of CAST, presided over the closing ceremony. Chen Fei, vice governor of the People's Government of Hunan Province; You Zheng, vice president of CAST and president of Huazhong University of Science and Technology; and, Tian Hongqi, president of the Central South University and president of the Hunan Association for Science and Technology, attended.

At the closing ceremony, CAST officially released the latest 10 major scientific questions, 10 engineering and technical challenges, and 10 industrial technology issues. It awarded plaques of "Recommended Excellent Units" to 28 societies including the Chinese Chemical Society and the Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences.

The launching ceremony of the 2022 China (Changsha) Overseas Talents Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition & the International Promotion for the Innovation China were held at the closing ceremony.

Relevant responsible persons of CAST, academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering and other experts and scholars, representatives of front-line scientific and technological workers, and representatives of entrepreneurs, attended. Chen Liang, Deng Yiqi, and Mu Yongqi, representatives of young scientific and technological workers, made keynote reports.
