Hunan government holds talks with SAMR, ACFIC in Beijing

The People's Government of Hunan Province held working talks with the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) and the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC) respectively in Beijing on July 25, 2022. They conducted in-depth exchanges on implementation of the spirit of President Xi Jinping's important speeches and instructions made when inspecting Hunan. Mao Weiming, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and governor of the People's Government of Hunan Province; Luo Wen, director of SAMR; and Xu Lejiang, vice minister of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee and secretary of the CPC Leadership Group of ACFIC, attended.

Pu Chun, deputy director of SAMR; Huang Rong, vice chairman of ACFIC; Zhao Dejiang, a member of the CPC Leadership Group and secretary-general of ACFIC; Hunan provincial leaders Sui Zhongcheng and He Baoxiang; and Deng Qunce, secretary general of the People's Government of Hunan Province, were present.

Governor Mao thanked SAMR and ACFIC for their support to Hunan. He noted that this year, in accordance with the decisions and arrangements made by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, Hunan has fully implemented the positioning, missions, and tasks of the "Three Hubs and Four New Missions" Strategy; efficiently coordinated epidemic prevention and control with economic and social development; and, further promoted the "Three Major Supports and Eight Key Points" work. The provincial economy was generally stable, better than the national average, firming up, and improving steadily.

SAMR could provide guidance and support to Hunan in such areas as the establishment of a quality powerhouse, construction of a free trade pilot zone, optimization of business environment, and registration of product formula, he said, hoping that ACFIC may deepen strategic cooperation with Hunan, promote more enterprises to come and settle down in Hunan, guide Hunan to optimize the business environment, and promote the healthy development of the private economy.

SAMR Director Luo congratulated Hunan on its achievements in economic and social development. He remarked that SAMR will implement ministerial-provincial strategic cooperation framework agreement and support the development of Hunan's market supervision and various construction undertakings as always. It will strengthen policy support and business guidance in optimizing the business environment, enhancing quality supervision, and expanding market entities; fully assist Hunan in building the pilot free trade zone; and jointly contribute to the growth of a unified domestic market and a high-standard market system.

Vice Minister Xu believed that Hunan has achieved remarkable results in optimizing the business environment, and the development of the private economy is distinctive and dynamic, showing a rapid development trend of transformation and upgrading. ACFIC will actively encourage and support private enterprises to invest and start businesses in Hunan; deepen strategic collaboration on building an important national growth pole with the focus on the Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan metropolitan area; help Hunan create a market-oriented, legalized, and international business environment; and, work together to consolidate and expand the achievements made in poverty alleviation in coordination with the extensive drive for rural vitalization; so as to better promote the high-quality development of Hunan, he added.
