Promotion for China (Hunan)-Africa Economic and Trade Cooperation Held

The Promotion Conference for China (Hunan)-Africa Economic and Trade Cooperation & the Pilot Zone for In-depth China-Africa Economic and Trade Cooperation was held in Changsha on the morning of July 28. Li Dianxun, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and executive vice governor of Hunan Province; Tanzanian Ambassador to China Mbelwa Kairuki; Algerian Ambassador to China Hassane Rabehi; and Jiang Wei, director of the Department of Western Asian and African Affairs of the Ministry of Commerce, attended and delivered speeches.

Twenty-nine diplomatic envoys from 15 African countries including Algeria, Ethiopia, Angola, Ghana, Cote d'Ivoire, Kenya, Rwanda, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, South Africa, Nigeria, Tanzania and Uganda also attended.

President Xi Jinping proposed nine programs to be implemented between China and Africa, including the medical and health program, said Vice Governor Li. He added that Hunan will as always uphold the greater good in the pursuit of shared interests and follow the principles of sincerity, pragmatism, affinity and good faith. The province will take the conference as an opportunity to further make full use of competitive advantages and achieve more tangible cooperation results with African countries in engineering machinery, biological medicine, information technology, modern agriculture, and road, bridge, and house construction, so as to deliver benefits to the peoples of the two sides.

Tanzanian Ambassador to China Mbelwa Kairuki said that the building of the Pilot Zone for In-depth China-Africa Economic and Trade Cooperation sets a new fine example for China-Africa cooperation. Tanzania is willing to work closely with Hunan to make positive contributions to the building of a China-Africa community with a shared future.

Algerian Ambassador to China Hassane Rabehi said that Algeria has huge development potential in energy, mining, agriculture, tourism and other industries. It is hoped that the two sides will make good use of platforms such as the Pilot Zone for In-depth China-Africa Economic and Trade Cooperation to continuously create a new situation of interaction and friendly cooperation.
