Changsha Medical Device Industrial Park Opens

A ceremony marking the opening of the Changsha Medical Device Industrial Park in the Wangcheng Economic and Technological Development Zone was held on August 8, 2022.

Sixteen enterprises have set up, or are setting up offices in the park. The number of registered medical device enterprises in the park is anticipated to exceed 80 within five years. The annual output value will hit five billion CNY upon full operation, contributing more than 100 million CNY of tax annually.

The industrial park was contracted to be located in the Wangcheng Economic and Technological Development Zone this February, and opened to operation in only half a year. The operator aims to construct a medical industry service platform with multiple functions of registration and authentication, entrusted production, promotion and marketing, and technological innovation, focusing on the subsets of in vitro diagnosis, intelligent medical device, and medical cosmetology. With an investment of 500 million CNY, it covers a total area of 56 mu (more than 3.73 ha.). So far, the construction of 85,000-sqm plants and supporting buildings have been completed.

In recent years, the Wangcheng Economic and Technological Development Zone has given top priority to developing advanced manufacturing. An industrial cluster of advanced manufacturing, represented by medical devices, is booming and plays a leading role in safeguarding people's life and health and promoting high-quality economic development. Next, the park will continue to develop medical device industry, make in-depth research on biological medicine, and strive to strengthen its capacity in agglomerating related industries, so as to contribute to achieving the goal of 100 billion CNY in output value in Hunan's medical device industry.
