Monk Fruit Becomes Cash Cow for Farmers

The photo, taken on November 2, shows villagers sorting out siraitia grosvenorii or monk fruit at Shimen Village, Shiqiao Town, Jiahe County. Currently siraitia grosvenorii here has entered harvest season. Local villagers are busy picking, sorting out, and packing the fruit to ensure market supply. In recent years, the village has developed featured industries in light of local conditions. More than 300 mu (20 ha.) of siraitia grosvenorii have been planted in the village, which effectively helps promote the development of collective economy and increase farmers' income.
