On July 10, Zhou Jinqiang, deputy director of the General Administration of Sport (GAS) of China and member of its Leading Party Members Group, led a delegation to inspect the training of gymnastics reserve talents in Changsha City. Xiong Ni, secretary of the Leading Party Members Group of Hunan Provincial Sports Bureau; Luo Shuangquan, director of the Hunan Provincial Sports Bureau; and, Xiao Zhengbo, vice mayor of Changsha, participated.

The delegation visited Wangyuehu No. 1 Primary School and Changsha Gymnastics School in succession. They inspected the schools' training venues and learning and living areas for athletes and learned about the training facilities, the faculty, the enrollment and selection process, and other work.

Since 2008, Wangyuehu No. 1 Primary School has introduced professional athletes as gymnastics coaches and carried out amateur training for gymnastics, trampoline and other sports events. It has now developed into a first-class sports reserve talent base in Changsha City and a sports reserve talent base in Hunan Province.

Changsha Gymnastics School, founded in 1985, is one of the four key gymnastics schools in China. Its responsibilities encompass various aspects of gymnastics, trampoline, and other sports in the city. These responsibilities include competition organization, management, athlete training, talent transfer, and guidance. It has cultivated many Olympic and world champions such as Lu Li, Li Xiaopeng, Liu Xuan and Zhang Boheng.

The delegation highly appreciated the sports work of the two schools. It is hoped that the schools will continue to expand enrollment and selection of talents based on their own resources; explore the establishment of a mechanism for the integration of sports and education, team construction and other work; and, be committed to training well-developed gymnastics reserve talents and contributing to the building of China into a leading sporting power.
