Team Led by CAE Academician Resides in Village, Boosts Poultry Farming

The photo, taken on July 8, shows postgraduate students from Hunan Agricultural University explained information about chicken raising to villagers at a poultry breeding science and technology backyard in Xihu Village, Kaihui Town, Changsha County. The backyard, established in 2019, is one of Hunan's first 16 China Rural Special Technology Association Science and Technology Backyards. It is composed of a team led by Academician Yin Yulong from the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) and resident postgraduate students. Since its establishment, more than 20 students have been stationed in the village to conduct scientific research and provide technical services. They have helped the village's collective economy cooperative and farmers raise 30,000 enzyme-fed chickens, resulting in an average annual income increase of over 50,000 yuan.
