Gaoyiling Tourist Area to Be Added to 4A Category

On September 5, the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism announced on its official website that the Gaoyiling Tourist Area was proposed to be a national 4A-level tourist attraction.

The new 4A-level tourist attraction was recommended by Chenzhou tourist attraction quality rating committee and evaluated in accordance with national standards and regulations by the provincial tourist attraction quality rating committee. The Gaoyiling Tourist Area has met the requirements for a national 4A-level tourist attraction and is granted with a 4A rating. The publicity period for this designation is from September 5 to 12, 2023.

The Gaoyiling Tourist Area is located at the border of Suxian District's Qiaokou Town and Zixing City in Chenzhou. It is adjacent to Feitian Mountain and shares its border with Bianjiang Town in Yongxing County. The tourist area is about 28 kilometers away from the Dongjiang Lake.

The Gaoyiling Tourist Area remained relatively unknown for a long time. However, in recent years, it gained widespread attention when videos taken by netizens were shared online. Its breathtaking natural beauty and unique landscapes quickly captivated people, making it a popular destination for both domestic and international tourists. The Chenzhou government has invested in its development and upgrades, attracting even more visitors. It has become a perennial favorite on the list of popular tourist destinations during holidays.

The tourist area is primarily characterized by its lush mountains, dense forests, and picturesque landscapes. It boasts mountains, rivers, springs, caves, villages, cliffs, and flat space. Its most distinctive feature is the beautiful puddles of water that surround the unique Danxia landforms. With its red rocks, green waters, dramatic cliffs, and charming villages, this area offers a pristine and captivating natural environment that is truly breathtaking.
