Overseas Talent Delegation Visits Changsha

With the theme of "Introducing Talents to Changsha - Accelerating the Construction of an Overseas Talent Resources Gathering Center", a four-day Changsha County tour was launched for a delegation of doctoral degree holders from European and American universities on September 11.

More than 30 students and scholars from world-renowned universities such as Oxford, Harvard and Cambridge gathered in Changsha County, Hunan Province. They came to explore the development of Changsha County, known as the "No. 1 county in central and western regions of China", and provide intellectual support and strong innovation impetus for its high-quality industrial development. 

Previously, Changsha County had issued a talent policy, proposing to invest 1.5 billion yuan in 5 years to create itself into a magnet for talents.

A signing ceremony on co-building a friendship association between the Oxford Chinese Students and Scholars Association and the Changsha County Overseas Friendship Association was held on site. A plaque for the Oxford Chinese Students and Scholars Association Changsha Liaison Office was conferred. That afternoon, the delegation visited the MoreFun Sports Theme Park, a typical project of revitalizing stock assets in China, to explore a possibility of urban renewal. Afterwards, they took a night tour of the Songya Lake to experience the natural beauty and sci-tech innovation heritage of this national ecological wetland park.

In the following days, the delegation will walk into the Sany Science Town, Longping High-tech Park, Changsha County High-level Talent Service Center, Changsha County Overseas Talent Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center, Yuelu Academy, Changsha Economic and Technological Development Zone International Talent Center, and other places. They will also visit key industrial chain enterprises and overseas talent innovation and entrepreneurship platforms in Changsha County. It is hoped that through this tour, they could have a deep understanding of Hunan culture, enjoy a trip of "exploration+ visit + experience + exchange", and savor the urban charm of Changsha, which is known as the "City of Intelligent Manufacturing", the "Capital of Construction Machinery", a cultural and creative center, and a biomedical cluster.
