First Hunan Scientific and Technological Innovation Forum Kicks off

The launching ceremony of the first Hunan Scientific and Technological Innovation Forum was held in Shaoyang on April 2, 2023. Well-known experts and scholars from home and abroad gathered together to discuss sci-tech innovation and local development. Zhang Jianfei, deputy secretary of the CPC Leadership Group of the Standing Committee and deputy director of the Hunan Provincial People's Congress, attended.

The forum is co-sponsored by the Talents Office of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, Hunan Association for Science and Technology, CPC Shaoyang Municipal Committee, and the People's Government of Shaoyang City. At the launching ceremony, relevant leaders and academicians jointly unveiled the "Shaoyang Academician (Expert) Industrial Park". Shaoyang City and the Central South University of Forestry Science and Technology signed a government-school strategic cooperation agreement. Eight projects, including Wugang paddy rice industry R & D cooperation, oil tea intelligent equipment promotion and application center construction, spinning fusion nonwoven intelligent production line construction, and honeysuckle high-value utilization and industrialization, were signed, injecting sci-tech power into the high-quality development of Shaoyang City. Three academicians such as Yin Yulong, gave wonderful keynote speeches on the topics of new materials, seed industry, and agriculture.

The event will be held in each city and prefecture across Hunan Province, in the form of "1 + N" (1 main venue plus numerous sub venues). Provincial-level societies, university sci-tech associations, and municipal and prefectural sci-tech associations will hold sub forums with distinctive themes, prominent focuses, and industrial characteristics. This aimed to create a comprehensive, multidisciplinary, and interdisciplinary high-end academic brand, integrating academic exchange, decision-making consultation, technical services, scientific popularization, and results release.
