3rd CAETE Preparatory Work in Full Swing

A work conference and a preparatory and mobilization meeting of the Secretariat of the 3rd China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo (CAETE) Organizing Committee were held in Changsha on May 6, 2023. The meeting said that 257 people from 45 African countries and 3 international organizations have registered to attend and 34 African countries have submitted exhibition materials. The preparatory work has been steadily advanced.

On May 6, a work conference and a preparatory and mobilization meeting of the Secretariat of the 3rd China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo (CAETE) Organizing Committee were held in Changsha.

The 3rd CAETE will be held in Changsha between June 29 and July 2. The preparation work has now entered the key and final stage. The expo will invite eight African countries, including the Republic of Benin, the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Republic of Madagascar, the Republic of Malawi, the Republic of Mozambique, the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the Republic of Zambia, to be the guest countries of honor. At present, there are 69 officials at ministerial level or above and 24 foreign ambassadors to China among the registered foreign guests. An array of international organizations, foreign financial institutions, and business associations will organize African enterprises and buyers to participate in the expo.

Steady progress has been made in inviting exhibitors. The main exhibition area planning has been completed, with six indoor pavilions and one outdoor exhibition area covering a total area of 100,000 square meters. In terms of pavilion design, the organizing committee has been making efforts to improve the quality of African exhibits and the exhibition services. Thirty-four African countries have submitted materials to showcase the achievements of China-Africa economic and trade cooperation.

During this session, the organizing committee will organize a series of major events, high-end forums and seminars, economic and trade matchmaking conferences, special seminars, field trips, as well as a number of activities held by other provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities, and cities and prefecture of Hunan Province. It will focus on gathering national resources and strength to continuously build a new window for local economic and trade cooperation with Africa.
