Secretary Shen, Governor Mao Meet Diplomatic Envoys of Ten Countries to China

Shen Xiaoming, secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, and Mao Weiming, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and governor of the People's Government of Hunan Province, met in Changsha with the envoys from ten countries to China on the afternoon of May 9, 2023. The guests came to attend the World Tourism Cities Federation Changsha Fragrant Hills Tourism Summit 2023.

Secretary Shen, on behalf of the provincial Party committee and government, welcomed the guests and congratulated on the successful hosting of the summit. He noted that Hunan boasts rich culture, talented people, and picturesque landscape. The urban night economy represented by Changsha City is thriving, which adds a distinctive feature to Hunan tourism. He welcomed friends from all over the world to visit Hunan often and experience the charm of Hunan's nature and culture. Hunan will continue to expand communication and cooperation achievements with all parties under the framework of the "Belt and Road" Initiative, he added.

Hussam Al Husseini, ambassador of Jordan to China, on behalf of the diplomatic envoys to China present, thanked Hunan for the warm reception and congratulated the province for its achievements in economic and social development. He remarked that Hunan has a long history and a splendid culture, with sound development momentum and beautiful ecological environment. He was looking forward to this Hunan trip and hoped to exchange experiences on tourism industry development; explore opportunities for tourism development in humanities, science and technology, and innovation; and, advance mutually beneficial cooperation through the summit.

Provincial leaders Xie Weijiang and Qin Guowen, and diplomatic envoys from Moldova, Sri Lanka, Seychelles, Trinidad and Tobago, Malta, Colombia, Ethiopia, Costa Rica, and Kenya to China, attended.
