SEG Automotive E-Drive System Global New Energy Project R&D Center Launched

The SEG Automotive E-Drive System Global New Energy Project was put into operation in Changsha Economic and Technological Development Zone on November 13. A launch ceremony of the project's R&D Center was held simultaneously. Wu Guiying, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and secretary of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee attended and announced the opening of the R&D center.

Jiao Chengyao, chairman of Zhengzhou Coal Mining Machinery (Group) Co., Ltd., Ferdinando Sorrentino, CEO of SEG Automotive Global, and Changsha municipal leaders Peng Huasong, Zou Te, and Peng Tao, participated.

As the world's leading technology and service provider of starter motors and generators, SEG Automotive is steadily expanding the market share of vehicles using traditional internal combustion engines, while also actively tapping into the new energy vehicle market. In January 2022, Zhengzhou Coal Mining Machinery (Group) Co., Ltd. and SEG Automotive (China) Co., Ltd. established a joint venture —SEG Automotive E-Drive System Company Ltd. in Changsha Economic and Technological Development Zone, which is engaged in the R&D and manufacturing of SEG Automotive new energy products.

The SEG Automotive E-Drive System Global New Energy Project's R&D Center is another agent construction project tailored by the Changsha Economic and Technological Development Zone for SEG Automotive, after the first and second phases of SEG Automotive Industrial Park. With a construction area of more than 13,000 square meters, the center not only functions as an electrification R&D and testing center of SEG Automotive (China) Co., Ltd., but also a center for technical R&D, trial production and performance test of SEG Automotive global e-drive systems and products.

After the launch ceremony, participating leaders and guests visited an exhibition hall of the SEG Automotive E-Drive System Global New Energy Project's R&D Center.
