Governor Mao talked with the foreign exhibitors and learned about the sales of the goods. CCHAE is a platform for modern agriculture exchange, cooperation, and development, he said. He expected to join hands with all countries, in particular the BRI partners, leveraging respective agricultural superiorities, broadening agricultural collaboration fields, and innovating cooperation forms, so as to benefit the people with more agricultural cooperation outcomes.

Hunan-brand agricultural specialties were popular at the expo, such as Ningxiang's pork, Xiangtan's lotus seeds, Hengyang's tea oil, and Shibadong Village's kiwi fruit. Governor Mao visited the agricultural specialty and pre-cooked dishes areas, and thumbed up for the goods of wide varieties and distinctive characteristics. He stressed giving full play to the advantages of Hunan cuisines in raw materials and flavors, extending the industrial chain of agriculture, and increasing the added value of agricultural products. He also asked to further industrialize and standardize the pre-cooked dishes industry to ensure food safety.

Hunan is a major supplier of grain, vegetables, and edible oil in China, said Mao. Since its initiation in 1999, CCHAE has displayed 210,000 varieties of exhibits and achieved a total transaction volume of 259.5 billion CNY. It has become a large comprehensive agricultural event boasting the largest size, profound influence, and high reputation around the country. Governor Mao asked to further give play to the functions of CCHAE as a window as well as a platform, continuing to increase supply of high-quality agricultural products and expanding the marketing and introduction channels for famous, specialty, and new agricultural products, to promote Hunan products to the world while introducing quality agricultural products into Hunan. He urged to develop local specialty sector through fostering leading enterprises, complementing the industrial chains, bolstering business patterns, and building brands, so as to improve the modern agricultural system and give the incremental benefit to the rural areas and farmers. He also called for boosting agricultural science and technology innovation, developing high-level innovation platforms, and making breakthroughs in core technologies and industrialized applications, to make contributions to accelerating the realization of agricultural science and technology self-reliance and self-strengthening at higher levels.
