Photo: Xinhua The Grand Beauty of Xiaoxiang, a large-scale series landscape painting exhibition hosted by the National Art Museum of China with other art institutions, opened in Beijing on Saturday. The exhibition takes the ecological civilization layout of "one river, one lake, three mountains and four waters" as the main line to show a vivid picture of modern Central China's Hunan Province and how it harmoniously coexists with nature. The Grand Beauty of Xiaoxiang creation project was led by Wang Jinshi, a young Chinese landscape painter, and dozens of artists who worked together to complete it in three years. The exhibition is the first artistic innovation to paint a panoramic portrait of the landscape of Xiaoxiang (the ancient name of Hunan) from the whole, and the first time a series of long scrolls have been used to show the magnificent atmosphere of Xiaoxiang's landscape. After the opening ceremony, an academic seminar was held at the National Art Museum of China. Experts and scholars from the fields of art research in Beijing, Hunan and other places exchanged views on the historical context, significance, artistic construction and important influence of Xiaoxiang landscape creation in the new era.
