2023 Top 100 Hunan Enterprises Announced

The 2023 Hunan Entrepreneurship Day and Hunan Entrepreneurs' Annual Conference were held in Changsha on December 14, with more than 450 people participating. It unveiled the lists of top 100 Hunan enterprises, Hunan's top 100 manufacturing enterprises, and Hunan's top 50 service enterprises. Five Hunan enterprises were included in the list of top 500 Chinese enterprises, eight in the list of China's top 500 manufacturing enterprises, and fifteen in the list of China's top 500 service enterprises. Two Hunan enterprises were on the lists of Fortune Global 500 companies and Forbes Global 500 companies respectively.

The entry threshold in terms of revenue for the top 100 enterprises in Hunan stood at 5,207 million yuan, registering an increase of 599 million yuan compared to the previous year and 1,682 million yuan from 2019.

In the list of 2023 top 100 Hunan enterprises, the number of 10-billion-yuan enterprises increased from 39 in 2019 to 62, that of 100-billion-yuan enterprises grew from 4 in 2019 to 7.

The combined revenues of top 100 Hunan companies rose from 1.89 trillion yuan in 2019 to 2.63 trillion yuan in 2023, an increase of 38.78%. Net profits of these companies increase from 83.608 billion yuan in 2019 to 116.566 billion yuan in 2023, a rise of 39.42%. The average expenditure in research and development surged 57.27% from the 2019 level.

Tax revenues of the top 100 enterprises grew from more than 156 billion yuan in 2019 to over 182 billion yuan in 2023, up 16.59%. The tax revenues accounted for 46.67% of the provincial total taxation, 8.67 percentage points higher than the 2019 level. Hunan secured 35 national-level manufacturing individuals and 12 winners of China Grand Awards for Industry.
