Hunan Acrobatics Shows to Be Staged in Benin

A review performance titled the "Belt and Road – Extraordinary Hunan Meeting Africa" Hunan Cultural Promotion in Benin and a pre-show mobilization conference were held at the Hunan Acrobatic Art Theater on December 13, 2023.

The event is co-sponsored by the Chinese Embassy in Benin and the Department of Culture and Tourism of Hunan Province, and undertaken by the China Cultural Center in Benin and the Hunan Performance Group. The delegation will stage "Belt and Road" themed Hunan acrobatics shows in Cotonou, the largest city in Benin, and Grand-Popo, a border port city in southern Benin, between December 14 and 21.

The perofrmance team will focus on displaying the most representative outstanding programs of the Hunan Acrobatic Art Theater, and the melodious Chinese folk songs and music, enabling the Benin audience to feel the profound Hunan culture. They will also perform together with local acrobats in Benin, to show the deep friendship between China and Africa.

Since the restart of overseas performances in 2023, the Hunan Acrobatic Art Theater has been invited to participate in the overseas acrobatic performances jointly organized by the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the China Acrobats Association. It has presented 154 shows to more than 200,000 audiences in the Dominican Republic, the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, and Spain.
