Hunan Delivers Emergency Relief Supplies to Assist Laos

A ceremony to mark the delivery of emergency relief supplies to assist Laos was held in Changsha on December 21, 2023.

Somkhit Vankham, consul general of the Lao People's Democratic Republic (PDR) to Changsha, and Guo Xiangli, vice president of the Hunan People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, attended the ceremony.

The assistance supplies included negative-pressure ambulances, specialized firefighting suits, ambulance stretchers, diving suits, and wireless transceivers. Hunan provided assistance for Laos with the aim of strengthening Laos' construction of social emergency rescue forces, enhancing the service capacity of the local charity and welfare organizations, and promoting the building of a China-Laos community with a shared future.

China and Laos are friendly socialist neighbors linked by mountains and rivers. In recent years, Hunan Province and Laos have carried out exchanges and cooperation and achieved fruitful results in such fields as high-level visits, establishment of friendship province or city ties, education, tourism, agriculture, cadre training, and assistance.
