A press conference and the launching ceremony for a "Bamboo Slip Tour in Changsha" were held in Changsha on July 17, 2024. Highlighting culture and museums, this tour aims to lead the participants to visit the archaeological excavation sites and appreciate the bamboo slip culture and art.

The event was guided by the Hunan Bureau of Cultural Heritage and the Changsha Municipal Bureau of Culture, Tourism, Radio, and Television, and hosted by the Changsha Bamboo Slips Museum.

Changsha is hailed as a "City of Bamboo Slips in China", boasting the largest number, the longest time span, and the most complete dynasty coverage of the bamboo slips unearthed around the city.

At the launching ceremony, a "Bamboo Slip Tour in Changsha" promo video was released, and several culture and museums themed travel routes were recommended.

The "Bamboo Slip Tour" starts at the Changsha Bamboo Slips Museum and ends at the Changsha Tongguan Kiln archaeological base of the Hunan Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology, passing through Wuyi Square, the Mawangdui Tombs of the Han Dynasty, and the Yuyang Tomb of the Western Han Dynasty. All these sites are important landmarks of Changsha's bamboo slips archaeology, with the unearthed bamboo slips recording the history and the lives of ancestors.

After the launching ceremony, 40 students and teachers from the Changsha Yali-Peicui School set off from the Changsha Bamboo Slips Museum, following the bamboo slips experts to start their tour.

In the following days during this summer vacation, the Changsha Bamboo Slips Museum will organize a variety of activities, such as little librarian career experience, exploring the Changsha Bamboo Slips Museum, and films watching. Detailed activity information will be publicized on the museum's official WeChat account.
