Super-large Diameter Shield Machine Rolls off Production Line in Changsha

The super-large diameter shield tunneling machine called "Dinghai" successfully rolled off production line in Changsha on January 10. It was jointly built by the China Railway Construction Heavy Industry Corporation and the China Railway 11th Bureau Group Corporation. With a maximum excavation diameter of 14.57 meters and weighing 4,350 tons, it is eight times heavier than ordinary shield machines. It will be used for the construction of the Ningbo-Zhoushan Railway Jintang Undersea Tunnel, which is the world's longest and largest undersea high-speed railway tunnel.
