In recent days, the workers have been busy cleaning and packing sweet oranges at an agricultural company in Yanmen Town, Mayang Miao Autonomous County, Huaihua. These sweet oranges are intended for export to Laos in the near future.

The company has exported 20 million tons of sweet oranges, including 10 million tons delivered to foreign regions through the Huaihua International Land Port, according to a manager of the company.

In recent years, the Mayang government has taken the initiative to enhance agricultural cooperation with ASEAN countries, relying on its advantages in the Huaihua International Land Port, the ASEAN Freight Assembly Center, and the building of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor. A new platform for two-way transportation and win-win collaboration has been established, promoting Mayang's sweet oranges overseas and pursuing a "dual circulation" development paradigm.

Higher technologies bring about improved quality and increasing opportunities for Mayang sweet oranges to "go global". 113 representatives of the Hunan chambers of commerce in Middle Eastern countries as well as merchants from these countries participated in the 2023 Mayang Sweet Orange Harvest Season Launching Ceremony. Mayang contracted with six commercial organizations in cooperation, including the Hunan chambers of commerce in Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam, as well as the domestic major suppliers such as Freshhippo, Wal-Mart, and Pagoda Group. So far, the total sales volume of sweet oranges has reached 163,800 tons.

In 2023, Mayang sweet oranges have been exported to six foreign countries and regions such as Cambodia and Russia through the international freight train service. The annual export of sweet oranges via the Huaihua International Land Port amounted to 15,000 tons. As of the end of 2023, Mayang's total value of export commodities hit 390 million CNY, with the export value of agricultural products quadrupling compared to 2022.
