Changsha's 207 Key Projects Start or Resume Construction

Inside the SAIC Volkswagen factory in the Changsha Economic and Technological Development Zone, construction of the new Lavida model technical improvement project is in full swing. With a total investment of about 5 billion yuan, the project is scheduled to be put into official operation in June of 2025, with an annual output of vehicles expected to reach 200,000. This exemplifies the resumption of construction of key projects in Changsha.

Changsha has focused on the implementation, construction, and operation of projects and has made every effort to get off to a good start for the year, according to the municipal development and reform commission on February 20. Among the 46 newly started key construction projects this year, 13 have commenced ahead of schedule.

On February 14 , the fifth day of the first lunar month, the Hunan Xiangjiang New Area held a Spring Festival face-to-face dialogue session among Hunan entrepreneurs. A total of 36 projects were inked, with a total investment of 45.8 billion yuan. Changsha County, Ningxiang City, and Wangcheng and Kaifu districts followed suit, holding concentrated signing and commencement activities for major projects successively. As of February 20, five concentrated signing and commencement activities have taken place across Changsha. A total of 146 projects have started construction, with an estimated total investment of 114.77 billion yuan. Eighty-five projects worth 103 billion yuan in total were signed.

Just after the Spring Festival holiday, construction of key projects in Changsha has entered a busy phase, accelerating the projects' full completion and operation. On February 19, all employees of the Xinglian Road Grand Channel Project returned to their jobs, working at full throttle to ensure the closure of the bridge by September this year. Changsha has already rolled out 638 key projects in 2024, 207 of them beginning or resuming construction.
