Banban Dragon Lantern Art Festival Opens in Cili County

The 2nd Cili Banban Dragon Lantern Art Festival opened on March 16. People paraded with dragon lanterns in their hands, forming a hundreds-of-meters-long giant dragon.

Banban dragon lantern, also known as Banban lantern, has a long history of more than 100 years in Cili County. A Banban lantern is composed of a leading lantern, a dragon head lantern, dragon body lanterns, shrimp and fish lanterns, dragon tail lanterns, and other parts. Banban lantern is a folk art which integrates traditional dance, traditional fine art, sports competition, and folk customs.
