The upper beam of the Pier No. 50 on Changsha Xinglian Road Grand Channel Project's Xiangjiang River-corssing main bridge was completed on March 6. This marked the first tower of the main bridge being joined together. The main bridge is a twin-tower cable-stayed bridge with a main span of 380 meters. It is the longest and widest river-crossing bridge with the largest single span under construction in Changsha. Construction of the project is progressing in an orderly manner, with the main bridge expected to be capped in June and get ready for traffic by the end of December.
