On April 13th, the 4th China International Consumer Products Expo opened in Haikou, capital city of south China's Hainan Province, marking the first major international exhibition in China this year. Over 4,000 brands from 71 countries and regions participated in the event.

The opening day witnessed a flurry of activity as eager visitors thronged to explore the myriad exhibits on display. From premium goods to cutting-edge innovations, exhibitors from diverse backgrounds enthusiastically presented their distinctive products, inviting attendees to engage and indulge in unique experiences. Amidst the vibrant atmosphere, conversations buzzed with anticipation, underlining the profound belief in the immense potential of the Chinese consumer market.

Emphasizing the opportunity to deepen the understanding of Irish offerings in China and foster a greater appreciation for Irish food among Chinese consumers, Conor O'Sullivan, China Manager of Bord Bia, highlighted the significance of Ireland being named the country of honor. He remarked, "It's the biggest consumer show in China, so in terms of reaching consumers, this is obviously the one we want to be at." Sharing his excitement about the expo, O'Sullivan stated, "It's bigger every year for sure. It's really obvious this year in particular — I've never seen it so busy. So obviously we're very excited."

The event's theme, "Share Open Opportunities, Co-create a Better Life," resonated throughout the venue as exhibitors expressed their optimism about finding new avenues for collaboration and expansion in the Chinese market. As the expo unfolds over the course of six days, it serves as a testament to the enduring spirit of innovation, cooperation, and shared prosperity in the global consumer landscape.
