Apart from Halloween, which is prevalent in western countries like U.K. and France, the Day of the Dead originated from Mexico is gaining popularity. 

听说墨西哥人会在亡灵节这天享用亡灵面包,喝一种和血液很像的Colada Morada饮料。

Its said that on the day Mexicans will have a bread of the dead and drink Colada Morada which looks like blood. 

众所周知,中国美食文化博大精深,鸡爪可以随机吓坏一个歪果仁。

As we all know, Chinese food culture is extensive and profound. Take chicken feet for instance, they can freak out a foreigner anytime.

其实,中国的许多传统节日也常常和固定的食物挂钩。

In fact, many traditional Chinese festivals are often tied to certain food.

比如:端午节吃粽子,中秋节吃月饼。

For example, zongzi is eaten on the Dragon Boat Festival and mooncakes are eaten on Mid-Autumn Festival.

那清明这天我们踏青、祭祖。

On Tomb Sweeping Day, we go on an outing and worship our ancestors.

But what do we eat? --- Well, now let me introduce to you the newly-promoted festival food: Qingtuan!

青团是江南人家在清明节吃的一道传统点心,据考证,青团之称大约始于唐代。

Qingtuan, or green rice balls, are widely consumed in China's Jiangnan area on Tomb Sweeping Day, and it has been proven that the name of Qingtuan was first used in the Tang Dynasty.

古时候人们做青团主要用作祭祀,而如今已经成为了一道时令性很强的春游小吃。

In ancient times, Qingtuan was made mainly for rituals, but now it has become a seasonal spring snack.

In addition to the two classic flavors -- bean paste and meat floss,

现还有芋泥奶酪青团、流心芝士奶黄青团、螺蛳粉青团。
