The 2024 Ningyuan Jiuyi Mountain Half-Marathon will kick off at the foot of spectacular Jiuyi Mountain on December 22. The "Origin of Xiangjiang River—Yongzhou" 10,000-runner marathon, and also the "Colorful Lingnan, Picturesque Yongzhou" hiking event will be launched simultaneously.

The event will consist of three programs—a half marathon (21.0975km), a fun run (about 5km), and a health hiking (about 15km), catering to different age groups and skill levels. On that day, thousands of sports enthusiasts will gather on Jiuyi Mountain to challenge themselves and enjoy the fun of sports.

Jiuyi Mountain, located in picturesque Ningyuan County, Yongzhou, is a national-level forest park and one of Hunan's six famous tourist attractions and ten famous scenic areas. A number of celebrated politicians, historians, and litterateurs in the history had toured here, leaving gorgeous poetry and literary works which have spread through the ages.

The marathon integrates the natural beauty of Jiuyi Mountain with its rich history and culture, providing participants with a challenging race that showcases the region's unique appeal.

During the marathon period between December 21 and 23, all scenic spots in Ningyuan County will offer free admission to marathon participants and their accompaniers. Showcasing their race bibs, runners can enjoy complimentary access to numerous scenic spots in the county, such as Sanfen Rock, Zixia Cave, Shunyuan Peak, Mausoleum of Emperor Shun, and Yuguan Cave on Jiuyi Mountain as well as the Ningyuan Confucius Temple.
